Follow Our Journey

Through Nature

While we feel that in years past we did not sufficiently document our progress, we are now striving to highlight

the life giving progress we have made on our land.

These images show the importance of conservation

and the need for donations to support our efforts. We are only two people and though we do all we can, we can only do so much.

We need your help!

We purchased our land in 2015.

We fell in love with the forest which was the deciding factor for our purchase. Much of the land had been badly damaged & needed love & care.

We immediately set right conditions to facilitate natural regeneration. Soon after we began constructing various structures. We are still building today.

The 1.5 hc that we inhabit had a few young trees, very few plants, & had no ground cover. We collected compost from restaurants, hauled in fallen trees, gathered leaves in piles, & allowed the grass to grow. As time went on native plants began to take root & we began to see signs of life in the soil.

We have planted over 250 trees in our forest & garden areas. We valued existing native species over our new plantings. Our trails were decided & formed by the natural regeneration of the land. We simply added new trees where there was space. 10 years later we are still discovering more species of plants & animals on our land. We hope our work will never be finished.

We are currently constructing our

main house & education area.
We have also begun construction of the addition of an apartment over our bodega & workshop. That will serve as living quarters for volunteers, students, or biologists. We have also been busy added numerous composte & planting sheds, carports, & a small house (Casita) that we currently live in.

That house will serve as a home to others that may want to help in the future.

Finca Dinamica is surrounded by 2 seasonal creeks. We have designated the 8hc of forest as a strict conservation area. We have also chosen to allow approximately 1 hc of our habitation zone to remain wild. We maintain minimal trails & the property line in the forest. We have allowed space for multiple trails within the botanical gardens. We are diligent in maintaining a proper balance between widlife habitat & living space for ourselves & visitors.
